Bank of America Grant Allows NewVue to Expand Resident Services Support

December 18, 2025

NewVue Communities will be enhancing services for residents in 2026 to support housing stability, thanks to funding from Bank of America.

We are thrilled to share that NewVue Communities was selected as the recipient of Bank of America’s prestigious 2025 Worcester Neighborhood Builder award.

NewVue Communities joined just two other recipients in the state recognized with a Neighborhood Builder award, which includes a $50,000 grant.

NewVue staff attended a celebratory event hosted by Bank of America in November, during which we heard details of Bank of America’s 2025 Study of Philanthropy from National Philanthropic Strategy Executive, Dianne Chipps Bailey.

“We are very excited to be chosen for this very coveted award,’’ said Kerry Flathers, NewVue’s Director of Development and Communications. Dianne Chipps Bailey is truly an expert who imparts her knowledge with humor and passion. It was refreshing and informative to get a current snapshot on donor giving trends.  We thank Bank of America for seeing the value in our work at NewVue.”

Studies have shown that people lose their homes for many reasons not just related to the cost of rent. Basic needs insecurity, one time life events, such as death or illness, and employment changes are the driving forces of both stress and housing instability.

NewVue’s housing services work recognizes these root causes and will use this funding to strengthen our services to help people at risk before they fall into the delinquency and eviction cycle.

This funding will be used to support a resident services coordinator, who will work with tenants to help them navigate and access community-based services to ensure they have the resources to maintain their housing – a process that can often be overwhelming.

For example, tenants may be eligible for SNAP food benefits, local food pantries, utility assistance, or childcare vouchers.  In addition, many need more than financial assistance — counseling, legal assistance, and health services.  We see our resident coordinator as a navigator for those services to offer a more holistic approach to wellness and housing stability.

Thank you to Bank of America for helping NewVue strengthen and build our community!
