We're on a Mission

NewVue Communities is a nonprofit community development corporation dedicated to creating strong and healthy neighborhoods where residents choose to live, work, and invest.

NewVue Communities is the only community development corporation solely dedicated to serving the 240,000 residents of North Central Massachusetts, a region of 22 municipalities stretching from Harvard to Athol. We strategically use a five-pronged approach to strengthen communities and fuel economic and social progress through homeownership, small business development, housing development, asset management, and community organizing.

Our work is accomplished through the support of our committed staff and board of directors, residents, and business owners in our communities, strong partnerships, local, state, and federal funding agencies, and private funders who see the value and impact of our work.

Our Mission

NewVue Communities is led by community members of diverse incomes and backgrounds; we develop quality housing, create economic opportunities, and foster civic engagement in North Central Massachusetts.

Our Commitment to Racial Equity

Following an increase in civil rights actions in the summer of 2020, the Massachusetts Association of Community Development Corporations (MACDC) responded to the call from community organizers and CDC directors to unite our work in developing a racial equity pledge that would be driven by our common values, understanding of racism and strategies to move the discussion to action. NewVue’s staff and board wholeheartedly signed on to support the pledge as an agency.

The four values identified in the pledge are:

  1. We commit to learning and addressing the different levels of racism so we can take action to dismantle those inequities.
  2. We believe that our staff should be diverse, equitable, inclusive, and representative of the communities we serve
  3. We believe that our board should be diverse, equitable, inclusive, and representative of the communities we serve.
  4. We believe in authentic representation in our programming/services.
